Vision impairment no barrier for Ebony

People always assume because I’m visually impaired I can’t do it the same as everyone else can, but just because I might be visually impaired – I can do things the same but it might just be slightly different. My name is ebony and I really enjoy cooking and socializing with other people. Thank you for calling EPIC Assist, this is Ebony. I’m the Receptionist so it means that I greet clients, I answer the phone, I do any general tasks at the office may have and just bits and pieces like that. At home, we don’t like to use the word disability, we call it barriers. When we’re talking about it Mum and I will say “what barriers do you have?” I have a screen reader on my computer called ZoomText so it means that I can magnify the screen and make it bigger and if need be if my eyes are getting tired I can also have it read to me. I also have a liquid level indicator
so that helps me if I’m making a hot tea or coffee so that I don’t overflow it and
end up burning myself. I just want people to have an understanding about how people with vision impairment, how they do things and how I can do things the same as everyone else can.
