Jayapal Says Trump “Recklessly Assassinated” Soleimani, and no “Imminent Threat” Existed

Co-chair of the progressive caucus Pramila
Jayapal accused President Trump of recklessly assassinating Qassem Soleimani, claiming “there
was no raw evidence presented that there was an imminent threat” during a classified
congressional briefing. Rep. Pramila Jayapal: President Trump recklessly assassinated Qasem
Soleimani. He had no evidence of an imminent threat or
attack, and we say that coming from a classified briefing where again, there was no raw evidence
presented that there was an imminent threat: Rep. Jody Hice, who attended the briefing
(R-GA) wrote: Just left a classified briefing on the mission
to eliminate Soleimani & our response to Iran’s missile attack. It’s plain as day that @realDonaldTrump
did what was necessary to protect American lives. I’ve never been more proud of @POTUS, and
I’m grateful for his leadership. During the same briefing, Ilhan Omar is took
heat from conservatives Wednesday for claiming she’s been “stricken with PTSD” when
hearing conversations around war at a Press conference. “And I think every time I hear about — I
hear of conversations around war, I find myself being stricken with PTSD.” Omar said “And I find peace knowing that
I serve with great advocates for peace and people who have shown courage against war” Rep. Jim Banks blasted Omar, calling her a
“disgrace” and “offensive to our nation’s veterans.” Omar was also blasted for laughing and apparently
joking around while her colleague Sheila Jackson Lee discussed U.S. casualties.
