George Michael’s lover Fadi Fawaz could inherit slice of singer’s £98m fortune – News

George Michael’s lover Fadi Fawaz could inherit a slice of his £98million fortune after all  Fadi, 46, received nothing in the late singer’s will and was forcibly removed from his London home this summer  But lawyers now believe Fadi might have a viable claim under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependents) Act 1975  Anna Kelly, a solicitor at Birketts law firm, said: “The act is designed to protect people who ought to have been provided for under a will but for some reason were not  “Those individuals who are entitled to advance a claim against an estate include spouses, children and individuals who had been living with the deceased in a loving relationship for two years prior to their death  “George Michael and Mr Fawaz were reportedly in a relationship for five years so it is entirely plausible that they had lived together for two years prior to his death  “Mr Fawaz would also have to demonstrate that George Michael was financially maintaining him before his death The media has reported that since George Michael’s death Mr Fawaz is struggling financially, so again it is plausible that a multi-millionaire was financially supporting his partner by providing him with luxury housing, cars, food and even a monthly allowance If Mr Fawaz was experiencing this level of maintenance from George Michael then the 1975 Act says that he is entitled to the same level of maintenance even after death ’’  This week Fadi claimed he was filing a case against the estate of George Micheal for a share of the fund at the County Court in Romford  The Wham! singer left most of his fortune to his sisters Melanie and Yioda, as well as to his father Kyriacos, charities and friends
